Manuel Vizurraga, recently graduated with his BM in Piano Performance and Pedagogy at the University of West Georgia where he studied with Dr. Carol Gingerich. Manuel currently studies piano with George Mann in his private studio. He was the first pianist at West Georgia to receive a scholarship from the Kawai Company. On campus, Vizurraga has won the annual Wright Scholars and Honors Day competitions three times in a row. He also won the annual concerto competition in 2009 where he got to perform with the Carroll Symphony Orchestra. Off campus, Vizurraga has won several awards in the GMTA and GMEA piano competitions, recently winning the State Division of the MTNA Young Artist Piano Competition (Georgia). He was the undergraduate keyboard division winner of the Atlanta Music Club Scholarship Competition (2012) and a finalist in the Pro Mozart Society of Atlanta Competition (2013). He also participated in master classes with world-renowned pianists Angela Hewitt and Jeremy Denk.
