I am a Brazilian guitar teacher and started to play acoustic guitar as a self-taught in 1975 at the age of seven. Later, I studied classical guitar in the Universidade Livre de Música from 1989 to 1992, and in 2012 I graduated with a degree in music composition by the Faculdade de Artes Alcântara Machado. My artistic career started as a singer and acoustic guitar player, in a group that worked with Latin music, in 1986. I also performed in theaters, pubs, and festivals, both as soloist and support musician. The most important event I attended was the Festival Internacional de Violão promoted by SESC (1997, Brazil), when I shared the stage with some of the world’s finest guitarists, including Scott Tennant, Ralph Towner, Egberto Gismonti, and the master of Brazilian guitar, Baden Powell. I love teaching guitar, therefore, I have dedicated much of my life to pursuing this passion. During this time, I worked in several music schools, like the Escola de Música do Estado de São Paulo – Tom Jobim (EMESP – Tom Jobim) and the Conservatório Musical Souza Lima, both in São Paulo. And I am very happy to say that since August 2016 I am a member of the Los Angeles Guitar Academy faculty.
