Clarissa has always had a passion for music. She started playing the violin at age five, and debuted at the Pritzker Pavilion in Chicago in front of ten thousand people when she was nine years old. She has performed at Carnegie Hall in New York, and has given solo recitals and concerts in the United States, Italy, France and Germany. She was invited to perform as a soloist at the Chicago Mayoral Inauguration Ceremony, at the NATO Summit Chicago event and at the Italian Parliament in Rome. She is the youngest violinist chosen to perform weekly at the Auditorium Arvedi in Cremona with the precious Stradivari collection of the Violin Museum and the Friends of Stradivari. Clarissa is the recipient of the ‘Breaking Ground Artist’ award by Picosa Chicago, the 'Young Talent' award by Sony Classical Talent Scout and the Guadagnini Scholarship by the Rotary Club. She has won prizes in several national and international competitions including the New York International Artist Violin Competition, European Music Competition, DePaul Concerto Festival, MYA Walgreens Concerto Competition, UIC Youth Concerto Competition, Merit Concerto Competition, SAI String Scholarship Competition, MYA Discover Chamber Music Competition, Premio Abbado National Competition, Cittá di Giussano National Competition, Città Castel San Giovanni National Competition and the Soloist Competition of the Conservatorio Nicolini Orchestra with the Beethoven Violin Concerto. At age sixteen she earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance from the Conservatorio Nicolini in Piacenza, where she graduated summa cum laude. She studies violin with Daniele Gay in Milan, and with Boris Belkin at the Academia Chigiana in Siena. Her previous teachers include Olga Kaler, Professor at DePaul University School of Music, and David Taylor, Chicago Symphony Orchestra. She plays on a violin made by C. G.
